On April 19, 2020 Budget Anime Drawings was born. It all started with a quick doodle of Naruto's "Sexy Jutsu" while being bored during the major Covid-19 lockdown.
That simple doodle bloomed into a daily art challenge that lasted an entire year, consisting of over 365 Anime drawings!
Just like with all my art, I had a lot of fun with the project by including easter eggs!
(example: if you scroll thru the entire year of drawings on instagram, you will see a rainbow gradient where every 6 panels the background color would slightly change.)
One major thing I took away from this project would be an even stronger grasp of dedication!
I will be first to admit, I totally under-estimated the time and dedication it took to complete such a project!
There was no days off and several nights where I questioned if this challenge was worth the investment. I am so proud that I stuck through it and have this awesome collection to share with all of you!
I would also like to give a shout-out to artists like @BEEPLE who has done 13+ years of everydays.
I started this project on an old iPad my sister gifted to me, which I upgraded during the challenge, so some of my early stats are lost. I did my best to give a humble estimate on overall specs.
I went through my top 100 BAD Anime drawings from over the year and stripped all of the layers leaving only the outline. I then remixed each design in my signiture comic pop-art style. Each piece was drawn by hand and given individual time and attention.
